Have you ever looked into your family genealogy? Traced steps back through the history books to see how your family has evolved over the years? Your family roots can often define how you grow and expand into present day — your legacy.

The Mannix family comes from a legacy of builders, claiming two distant ancestors — John de Courcy and Cormac McCarthy. De Courcy was a Norman invader who conquered an area in 1166 in what we now know as Northern Ireland. To strengthen his hold, he constructed huge fortifications, improved hilltop raths and built numerous abbeys. His work didn’t go unnoticed. In 1185, de Courcy was appointed justifier of Ireland.

And most of us have heard of the Blarney Stone. Another Mannix family connection Cormac McCarthy, the Baron of Blarney, built Blarney Castle in 1446. Kissing a block of limestone within the walls of the castle is said to give one the gift of eloquence.
