In 1993 a Loram team was selected to develop the next rail grinding platform. That machine was christened C2101 during its commissioning in the Spring of 1995 with Mr. Ron Mannix attending. The C2102 and C2103 machines followed shortly thereafter.

In 2000 a rail incident in Hatfield United Kingdom identified an urgent need for rail grinding equipment for which the C2101 was specifically designed. The machine was prepared for export to the UK and Mr. Ron Mannix visited the machine during those preparations.

In 2009 the Deutsche Bahn railroad was experiencing severe rail defects dictating additional rail grinding equipment. During the course of that Project Mr. Ron Mannix inquired about the challenges encountered. Those machines were certified for use in Germany in November 2015.

In all these cases Loram equipment helped not only domestic railroads but international systems as well. Every passenger or product traveling by rail benefited. This should make everyone proud of who we are and what we do, even if we got a little dirty in the process, and thanks to Ron for participating!
